Overview
The spot reading feature in the Conserv Cloud Mobile App allows you to connect directly to your Conserv Smart Collection Sensor (SCS) via Bluetooth to obtain real-time environmental readings. This feature is useful for immediate data collection from a specific location.
Important
- The spot reading feature is only available with Conserv SCS models with serial numbers above c006000.
- The spot reading will not add the reading to your graph. It will only pull and show a live reading from your sensor at the time. The sensor will continue to record every 15 minutes to Conserv Cloud.
Prerequisites
Before you begin: Ensure that you have the Conserv Cloud Mobile App installed on your mobile device and that you are signed in to your account.
You will need the following items to complete this procedure:
- Conserv Cloud Mobile App installed on your mobile device
- Access to the sensor from which you want to take a reading
- Bluetooth enabled on your mobile device
- Physical proximity to the sensor (within Bluetooth range)
Connect to Your Sensors
- Open the Conserv Cloud Mobile App on your mobile device.
- From the home screen options, tap Connect to sensors.
- Allow any pairing requests when prompted by your mobile device.
- Allow precise location access while using the app when prompted.
- Wait for your sensors to load in the app.
The app will display a list of available sensors within Bluetooth range.
Take a Spot Reading
- Once you see the sensor from which you want to get a reading, tap Connect.
- Remain in place so that the Bluetooth connection does not get broken during the reading process.
- Tap the TAKE READINGS button to get a live reading from your sensor at this time.
The app will display the current environmental readings including temperature, RH, and other available measurements depending on your sensor model. UV is only available on sensors with serial numbers above c008500.
Support
If you experience issues with taking spot readings, try the following solutions:
- Connection Issues: Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device and that you are within range of the sensor. Exit and refresh the app if necessary.
- Sensor Not Found: Verify that the sensor is powered on and functioning. Try moving closer to the sensor. Verify that the sensor appears in your Hierarchy view on the web app. If it does not, see this article.
- Pairing Problems: Check that you have allowed pairing requests and location permissions for the app.
- Reading Not Updating: Remain stationary near the sensor during the reading process to maintain a stable Bluetooth connection.
If you continue to experience issues with the spot reading feature, contact the Support Team for assistance.
