Step-by-step Instructions on How to Export Your Environmental Data
If you need to download raw data for analysis, follow these instructions:
- Click the Import/Export button at the base of the left navigation menu.
- Click the EXPORT tab
- Click on the search bar "Location / Space / Sensor" to select the sensor you want to export. Find your sensor by expanding the hierarchical view and selecting the correct sensor or start typing the name of the sensor in the search bar. At this time, you can only download data for one sensor at a time.
- Select the time period you'd like for the data. This can be one of our pre-selections or you can click, "Custom Date Range," to identify specific dates.
- Once your sensor and date range are selected, the button on the right to EXPORT DATA will activate.
- Click EXPORT DATA. A message should pop up letting you know that we are generating your file and will email it to you. You may close this message at any time. The email will come from noreply@conserv.io. Check your spam folder and whitelist Conserv emails to ensure delivery. The email will contain a link to retrieve your CSV file.
- Click the DOWNLOAD CSV button in the email. It should take you back into the web application and the file should start downloading automatically. If the download window does not open, check your pop-up blocker, and disable it if necessary.

Using the exported data
Why Timestamps Use UTC
Exported files from Conserv display timestamps in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) using ISO 8601 format.
For example:2025-04-05T04:09:44.580Z
Using this standard format ensures that timestamps are consistent across time zones and systems.
Download the Preconfigured Excel File
To help you convert these timestamps into your local time zone, we provide a macro-enabled Excel file.
This file includes a built-in button that performs the conversion automatically.
Use the Conversion Tool
-
Open the macro-enabled Excel file you downloaded.
-
Copy and paste your exported data into the spreadsheet.
-
Click the Convert UTC to Local Time button at the top of the sheet.
-
When prompted, select the header cell of your timestamp column.
Most of the time, this will be cell A1.
A new column will appear with the converted local times. The column header will include “(Local Time)” for easy reference. You will see a confirmation message telling you how many timestamps were converted.
