Introduction to Conserv Cloud

Conserv Cloud is full of great features to make environmental monitoring a breeze for your collection.

The articles in this section provide guidance on essential topics such as hierarchies, locations and spaces, levels, events, and alerts. Additionally, you will learn how to import your data effectively.

Navigation and Dashboard

When you sign in to Conserv Cloud, you will see multiple options in the left-navigation menu.

Sensors

The Sensors option takes you to your list of Conserv Smart Collection Sensors (SCSs) and gateways dashboard. You can view sensor information and assign sensors to spaces to manage your devices.

Dashboard

This dashboard is divided into two main sections: Sensors, and if you scroll down, Gateways.

Top Navigation

The top navigation on the dashboard includes:

  • View options: Cards, Hierarchy, and List
  • Location filter
  • Sensor status filter
  • Search bar
  • Link to the Conserv Community

Sensor Cards
Each sensor is represented by a card that displays crucial information.

Each sensor is represented by a card that displays crucial information:

  • Sensor Name: Name of the sensor, for example, "c004133 - Living."
  • Hierarchical Location: Location of the sensor in order of hierarchy, for example, "The North > Living Room."
  • Environmental Readings:
    • Temperature (°F or °C)
    • Relative Humidity (%)
    • Dew Point (°F or °C)
  • Connectivity Indicator: Shows the strength of the sensor's connection. Read more about viewing sensor connectivity indicators.
  • Last Seen: Time since the last data transmission.
  • Quick Access: Bar graph icon for data visualization.
  • Options (three-dot menu): Move, merge, or delete sensors, as well as define the events that are related to that particular sensor.

If a sensor shows "N/A" for its readings (other than leak detectors), it may indicate a connection issue or that the sensor is not currently active. For issues or questions about your sensors, contact the Support Team for assistance.

Sensor Types

The dashboard shows various sensor types:

    • Standard SCSs
    • Cold sensors
    • Outdoor sensors
    • Two leak detector types
    • Imported data loggers

    Note

Leak sensors show no environmental readings because they check in only every 90 minutes, and they do not take temperature or humidity readings like other sensors.

    Gateway Cards

Below the sensor section, you will find information about your gateways:

    • Gateway Name: Name of the gateway.
    • Status: Indicates the current state of the gateway.
    • Last sensor reading: Shows when the gateway last received data.

For gateways with "Status: Unknown," see Set Up a Gateway. For issues or questions about your gateways, contact the Support Team for assistance.

    Pests

The Pests option lets you manage your Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system, including assigning pest monitor locations, creating observations, identifying pests, checking your pest analytics, managing your custom pest lists, and checking the MuseumPests.net database.

    Observe

The Observe option provides a list of all of the observations that you made either in Conserv Cloud or Conserv Cloud Mobile App. You can create observations, view where the observation was made, when the observation was made, and who made the observation. You can also view any images that were added to the observations. These observations are related only to environmental readings. For IPM observations, use the Pests tab.

    Analyze

The Analyze option is the main place where you can see your graphs, save views, download environmental data, and check preservation metrics to help you out there.

    Reports

The Reports option lets you create reports that you might want to share with colleagues.

    Events

The Events option provides a list of events that have been triggered, including the amount of time those events lasted. They also allow you to add notes to the document details about the events.

    Import

The Import option lets you upload data from imported data loggers.

    Setup

The Setup option lets you set up levels and events. This is where you create your set points and acceptable ranges for your different environmental parameters. This is also where you create the events that trigger your real-time alerts. Learn more about configuring levels and setting up events and alerts.

    Additional Resources

Whether you are a new user or you just need a refresh, Conserv offers a free online course to help you learn how to use Conserv Cloud. This is also a great way for new team members to get up to speed on the software. You can find the course here!

By the end of the course, you will know how to:

    • Log in and invite unlimited team members for free.
    • Set up your locations and spaces for environmental conditions and IPM.
    • Create customized temperature, relative humidity (RH), and light level targets for your spaces.
    • Make observations in Conserv Cloud Mobile App.
    • View and analyze your environmental data.
    • Use built-in metrics to analyze your data.
    • Create and share reports.
    • Set up and track your IPM monitors.
    • Identify pests with our MuseumPests.net database.
    • View IPM analytics.
    • Get support and share your feedback on the software.
