How often should I retrieve data from my data loggers?
Manually retrieving data from data loggers is a key part of owning them, and a big contributor to the total cost of ownership of these devices. Frequency of retrieval is also the biggest factor in speed of response when the logger data indicates a problem. It's hard to take timely action with month-old data!
If you have a very stable environment, then retrieval every two weeks may be sufficient. In less stable environments, more frequent retrieval is a good idea. It's also important to pull data off the loggers more frequently when something is happening in a space, such as construction, large events, etc.
If you have wireless sensors, such as those from Conserv, manual retrieval isn't necessary. Find out more here.
