Sensor is not the right model
Firmware updates are only available for SCS-3 sensors with serial numbers above c006000. If your sensors are below c006000, they do not have the hardware component inside to allow a Bluetooth connection.
If you wish to have newer sensors but are still more than 6 months away from your contract renewal date, you may pay for an early sensor upgrade. Reach out to us for a quote if you would like to upgrade or add newer sensors to your subscription.
Organization settings do not have a country set in the address
Conserv is available in several countries. The latest remote firmware update capabilities are region-specific. This error appears when you have not set an Organization address.
It might say Country Not Available! or any variation of a Firmware update failed wording, especially when the Error Code is 0a. To resolve this error, see this article.
Internet connection is unstable
Firmware updates use the mobile device's internet connection to download the firmware first and then uses Bluetooth to push it onto the sensor.
The phone (or tablet) is acting as the middleman for the process.
If you are trying to do this in a space where the mobile device has reception issues, or bad WiFi, this will get in the way of the process and can cause it to fail.
Take the sensor you are trying to update to a space where you have a good internet connection on your mobile device and try again.
Bluetooth connection is unstable
The mobile device will use a Bluetooth connection to "push" the firmware update onto the sensor. For this reason, the mobile device must remain within Bluetooth range of the sensor throughout the process.
Do not walk away or move the phone/tablet while the firmware update is in progress. Any interruption to the Bluetooth connection will cause the update to fail.
App does not have Bluetooth permissions
The Conserv Mobile App must have Bluetooth permissions for the firmware update process to work. Both Android and iOS devices will ask for Bluetooth permissions when the app is first installed. If you denied any of these permissions, firmware updates will fail.
- Check app permissions for Bluetooth.
- Allow pairing permissions with individual sensors whenever the mobile device asks for permissions.
- Refresh the application (close entirely, do not let it run in the background) after making Bluetooth permission changes before trying firmware updates again.
- If necessary, "forget" any previously paired sensors in your Bluetooth history and pair them again.
Support
If you are still experiencing issues, please contact the Support Team.
Indicate the serial number for the sensor you are trying to update, and which of the above troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
If you are not sure what the serial number, see this article.
