How many sensors do you need? The number and placement of sensors depends on several important factors. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what kinds of data you're most interested in gathering.
We're often asked "How many sensors do I need for my collection?" There are many factors in deciding how many sensors you need and where they need to be placed, including the types of spaces you have, the kinds of data you're trying to gather, and even the directions of airflow in your building.
We usually recommend putting at least one sensor in each space you're concerned about. Larger spaces might need two or more sensors to really cover the space, or one sensor if the space is environmentally reliable. However, if you have issues with the humidity, for example, varying from one side of a room to the other, then you might want to install one sensor in each section of that room. It really depends on the types of data you need as well as the sizes and issues of your spaces and locations.
Placement is also dependent on that sorts of data you're interested in seeing. Typically, our customers place their sensors in line with their art. However, if you're looking to test the accuracy of your HVAC system, you may want your Conserv sensors close to your HVAC thermostats or sensors.
