About Acknowledging Events
Acknowledging an event is a way to signal that someone on your team has seen it and is handling it. It helps your team focus on events that still need attention and avoid duplicated effort when several people monitor the same account.
Acknowledgement is account-wide: when one member acknowledges an event, everyone in your account sees it as acknowledged, along with who acknowledged it and when.
Note
Acknowledging an event does not resolve or close it. The event stays active until the underlying condition returns to normal (for example, a temperature returns to within its threshold). Acknowledgement only records that your team is aware of the event.
Only Admins and Editors, or custom roles with the Events Management permission, can acknowledge events.
Before You Begin
Ensure you have:
- A Conserv Cloud account with permission to acknowledge events. If you do not see the acknowledge control, contact your account administrator to confirm your role includes this permission.
- At least one active event to acknowledge.
Acknowledge an Event
You can acknowledge an event from the Events list or from an individual event's details page.
From the Events List
- Sign in to Conserv Cloud.
- Select Events from the left navigation menu.
- Locate the active event you want to acknowledge.
- Select the acknowledge (checkmark) control on that event's row on the far right.
The event is marked as acknowledged. If you hover over the checkmark, it shows who acknowledged it and when.
From the Event Details Page
- From the Events list, select an event to open its details page.
- Select Acknowledge.
The event is marked as acknowledged, and the details page shows the acknowledgement.
Remove an Acknowledgement
If an event was acknowledged in error, or your team needs to return it to the active list, you can remove the acknowledgement.
- Select Events from the navigation menu and locate the acknowledged event.
- Uncheck the checkmark on the event's row or details page.
The event returns to the default active view and is counted again in the navigation indicator.
How Acknowledgement Affects the Events List and Navigation
Acknowledging an event changes where it appears so your team can concentrate on events that still need attention:
- Navigation indicator: The count shown to the right of Events in the left navigation pane reflects only active, unacknowledged events. Acknowledging an event lowers this count; the indicator is hidden when the count reaches zero.
- Events list: In the default sort order, acknowledged-but-active events are presented after active events that have not been acknowledged yet.
Note
The navigation count is account-wide. Every member of your account sees the same number.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does acknowledging an event stop it, resolve it, or turn off alerts?
No. Acknowledging indicates that your team is aware of the event. The event stays active until its condition returns to normal, and your notification settings are unchanged.
Can I acknowledge an event for only myself?
No. Acknowledgement is account-wide. When you acknowledge an event, all members of your account see it as acknowledged.
If I acknowledge an event, am I the only person who can undo it?
No. At this time, any Admin or Editor can acknowledge or un-acknowledge any event regardless of who else did it before.
Where can I see who acknowledged an event?
The acknowledged state, including who acknowledged it and when, appears on the event's row and on the event details page when you hover over the checkmark or the "Acknowledged" chip.
Why did the number on the Events navigation item change?
The number shows the count of active, unacknowledged events. It goes down when an event is acknowledged or returns to normal, and up when a new event is triggered or an acknowledgement is removed.
