Assign Sensors to Spaces

With Conserv Cloud, you can easily manage fleets of sensors by assigning them to spaces within a hierarchy.

Conserv's customers often have complex needs around how their spaces are organized, and how sensors are placed within those spaces. To learn more about organizing Spaces and Locations, check out these articles on Understanding Hierarchies and how to Set up a Hierarchy.

The best way to assign a sensor to a space is to Create the Space first and then drag and drop your sensor into it. Check out this article for steps on how to move a sensor: Update Sensor Locations.

Unexpected Changes in Locations

When you change the name of a space or a location, it impacts all of the sensors within that space or location. Any adjustments you make in the naming of a Space or Location in an individual sensor card will have a downstream effect on the sensors in those areas.

Tip

Changing the name of a Space is not the same as moving a sensor from one Space to another.

When you edit a Space name, this will effectively change the name of your Space, so that all sensors will update to reflect that change. This is what you see.

If you want to move a sensor, it is best in the Hierarchy view where you can get a full picture of what you are changing and what sensors it will affect.
For more details on how to update sensor locations, see this article.
