Congratulations on your new sensors! Here's how to set them up quickly and easily.
Setup for new sensors closely resembles your initial setup. Your new sensors and gateways (if any) should already appear in Conserv Cloud. If they do not, contact the Support Team to have them added. After they are visible in the dashboard, you can organize their locations in the hierarchy page and rename them if desired.
Setup varies depending on the sensor type.
Conserv Smart Collections Sensor (SCS)
The following list provides a high-level overview for activating SCSs. For more complete instructions, see Place, Mount, and Activate Sensors.
- Proximity to Gateway: Place the SCS near a connected gateway, preferably the one it will be closest to long-term.
- Activate the Sensor: Pull the plastic tab. The sensor will flash a blue light after about 15 seconds, indicating it is waking up and connecting to the gateway. Sometimes, the sensor will flash an orange or yellow light. This means it is waiting to be allowed into the network. It may take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to connect. Wait until the next day before opening a support ticket.
- Check the Data: Once the blue light stops flashing, the sensor data should start appearing in your Conserv Cloud dashboard within five minutes.
- Place the Sensor: Move the sensor to its final location. Check range connectivity through the Conserv Cloud dashboard (updates every 15 minutes).
